Smart home installation across Kent

Lighting that dims for a film, heating that knows you are on the way home, a front door that unlocks for the kids and locks itself at night. Installed and configured so it works from one app, not eleven.

One tap, the whole house responds

This is what a properly configured smart home does. Pick a scene and watch the lights, heating, network and locks change together.

A smart home that works is a wiring and network job first

Most smart homes fail because someone bought a box of gadgets and asked them to run over a shaky WiFi signal. We start with the infrastructure, then add the devices, then configure the lot so it behaves as one system.

  • Smart lighting from Philips Hue, Lutron and Shelly, including replacing existing switches so the wall still works
  • Heating and hot water control with Hive, Nest, Tado or your existing boiler
  • Smart locks, video doorbells and gate intercoms tied into your cameras and alarm
  • Scenes and routines: one tap for movie night, bedtime, away or holiday mode
  • Voice control with Alexa, Google Home or Apple Home, whichever you already use

What we install

Every job is different, but these are the things Kent homeowners ask for most. If you have bought something already, we will install that.

  • 01

    Smart lighting

Dimmable, colour changing or plain warm white, with physical switches that still work. Scenes for cooking, dinner and film nights.

  • 02

    Heating and hot water

Room by room control, schedules that follow your routine and a boiler that goes off when the last person leaves.

  • 03

    Locks and doorbells

Keyless entry with codes for cleaners and family, video doorbells you can answer from the office, gate intercoms.

  • 04

    Blinds and curtains

Motorised blinds that open with the sun and close at dusk. Retrofit options for existing blinds.

  • 05

    Voice and control

Alexa, Google or Apple Home configured properly, plus wall mounted control panels if you want physical buttons.

  • 06

    The network underneath

A wired backbone and proper WiFi so every device stays connected. This is the bit that makes everything else reliable.

Smart home installation questions

Do I need to rewire my house for a smart home?

No. Most smart lighting and heating works with your existing wiring. Where we do run new cables, for example for a control panel or a wired doorbell, it is done neatly and made good. The one thing we strongly recommend is a decent network, because that is what every smart device depends on.

Can you make different brands work together?

Usually yes. Hue, Nest, Ring, Sonos, Tado and most other mainstream brands can be brought into Alexa, Google Home or Apple Home. Where something is a dead end, Aaron will tell you before you buy it rather than after.

Will the light switches still work?

Yes. We either fit smart switches or smart modules behind your existing switches, so the wall works as it always did and the app is an extra, not a replacement. Nobody in the house has to change how they use the lights.

What happens if the internet goes down?

Lights, heating and locks carry on working locally. You lose remote control from outside the house until the connection comes back. On a care plan we can also set up a 4G backup so your cameras and alarm stay online.

How much does a smart home install cost in Kent?

A starter package with smart lighting in three rooms, a thermostat and a video doorbell is typically from around £850 including labour. Whole house projects with control panels and motorised blinds run into the thousands. Every quote is itemised so you can add or remove things.
