Terms of service

These terms apply to work carried out by AC Home Tech (formerly trading as AJC Network & Security), run by Aaron Carswell, based in Dover, Kent, and to the use of this website. By booking work or using the site you agree to them.

Quotes

Quotes are free and are valid for 30 days. They are based on the survey and the information you give us. If the job turns out to be materially different once work starts, for example because of hidden obstructions or a change in what you want, we will stop and agree any change in price with you before continuing.

Booking and payment

• A deposit may be required to order equipment for larger jobs. This is stated on the quote.
• The balance is due on completion, by bank transfer or card, unless agreed otherwise in writing.
• Care plans are billed monthly in advance by direct debit or card. The first three months are a minimum term, after which the plan runs month to month and can be cancelled with 30 days notice.

Cancellations

You can cancel a booked installation free of charge with 48 hours notice. Cancellations with less notice may be charged for time reserved and any non returnable equipment ordered for the job. You have the right to cancel a contract made away from our premises within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, unless you have asked us to start work within that period.

Our work

We carry out all work with reasonable skill and care, in line with manufacturer instructions and relevant standards. We are insured for public liability. Where we make good after running cables, this is to a sound, paintable finish. Decorating is not included unless quoted.

Warranty

Our installation workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from completion. Equipment is covered by the manufacturer's warranty, which we will help you claim on. The guarantee does not cover damage caused by others, by building work, by misuse, by power surges or by changes you make to the system.

Equipment you supply

We are happy to install equipment you have bought yourself. We cannot guarantee that it is suitable or that it will perform as you expect, and the manufacturer's warranty is between you and them. Our workmanship guarantee still applies to the installation.

Access and safety

You agree to give us safe access to the property and to tell us about anything we need to know, such as asbestos, hidden services or animals. We may stop work if conditions are unsafe.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death, personal injury or anything else that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise our liability for any job is limited to the price of that job. We are not responsible for losses caused by failures of third party services such as broadband providers, cloud storage or monitoring centres.

The content of this site is for general information and is owned by AC Home Tech. Prices shown are indicative starting points and every job is quoted individually. We try to keep the site accurate but do not guarantee it is free of errors.
